CHILDHOOD MEMORIES GROWING UP IN NIGERIA

So out of boredom, I decided to engage myself by reminiscing over my childhood years growing up in Nigeria.

First of all, if you Nigerian and your parents decided to ship outside Nigeria at the age of 2, my dear, your parents do owe you some memories ooo...lol. They took away some precious parts of your life forget all these them say them say about Naija.

Okay so my most fun childhood days were between 1992-2002/3. These were the years the best naija games were invented. The running-around free days. Once you done with your chores after school, omo na play things .

The games were what made my growing up fun of course plus the stupid things we did then. Now follow me so we could play virtually together.lol

MEMORY LANE

1) Police and thief- This game was the ish back then. Imagine us dey fight for who go be police and who go be thief. Police go go find stick gun while the thieves would go obviously find something to steal.

2) Mummy and Daddy- Who no play mummy and daddy? lmaooo. free tapping of current. Chai may God forgive them. I no follow oo

3) Street soccer- No boy or girl in this game. Especially when you end up being the last to be chosen. awww. E go be like say make ground open make you enter.

4) Ten-Ten- See girls serious with this one. It was one of my best games. 

5) Suwe- This is the tortue game. If your enemy decides to buy a house between 4 or 5, then you in trouble because when its time to close your eyes to buy your own house, you can't because you can't jump with your eyes closed.

6) Jump rope (we call it skipping rope)

7) Flip

8) My mother and your mother went to the market, my mother pinched your mother on the hand- if you do not remember this then bye..

9) Remember Cadbury Saturday mornings

10) Remember Christmas period when we stylishly turn into beggars going from house to house for money and then our parents would collect our money.

There are many more that I cannot remember at the moment but please let me know, what is your most memorable moment growing up?

MY TOP 5 BEAUTY ITEMS I AM LOVING.

Long time no saw. Lol. How are you guys doing? I know it’s been a while but work and laziness just took over my precious life. Na so life just tire person jare.

Now back to the post, I have been loving a few beauty items this period that I decided to share it with you guys. I have used these items for a while and so these are my sincere opinions about them except for the lip glazed lip paint.

1)  L.A GIRL GLAZED LIP PAINT.

These are the best lip paint hands down. I have just used it once because I just got it recently but….. I love it. It is a little bit runny though so one has to apply it with their fingers as to get an even distribution (lol). Omo I no mind that small stress jare.

2)  L.A GIRL PRO CONCEAL HD CONCEALER.

These are another winner from this company. These concealers can conceal the life out of your face. You have to be careful though when using flash because it is HD. I usually use it for my eyebrows and under-eye. Another good thing is that it is just $3.99.. I too cheap. No be my fault.

3)  B.H COSMETICS LIQUID FOUNDATION.

This is a holy grail for me. I never liked applying foundation until I came across this product. It goes on smoothly and covers everything up so well. Price $3.95.

4)  SIMPLE SENSITIVE SKIN EXPERTS.

Before applying all these makeups, we need to keep our skin looking good. I am not sure what I would have done without these products or how my skin would have been. They do not contain alchohol, dye or any other harsh chemicals and that’s why I love it.

5)    L.A MARK MY EYES EYELINER.

I also just discovered these recently since am a newbie to the cat-eyeliner trend. I can’t seem to use a liquid eyeliner to save my life but these are very easy to control. I can draw a precise line without my hands shaking like a fowl that got caught in the rain. These also lasts long as well.

            The fashion industry has really come a long way. The 90s is one of the best decades of the fashion industry. Now, we get to see how the 90s fashion is making a re-occurrence. Various trends has evolved over the years that when we look back, we actually see that most of them are actually just fashion recycling and not really new trends. I remember back in the 1990s or even the 80s when our parents will force us to wear the ever-dreading overalls and it will crush our little innocent souls to wear it out but today, it is one of the summer 2014 trend on the rise. We see it on various runways and fashion stores. People wear it with their own twist on it. The palazzo pants were worn by our parents back in the day and here they are making a comeback. Most of these trends unfortunately do not last for long even though they make an appearance.

Here are 5 trends making a comeback for the summer 2014.

OVERALLS

These definitely were a staple back in the 90s and they are becoming huge this spring and summer.

PALAZZO PANTS

Remember those pictures of our parents back in the day where they were rocking the afro and then we see them with the wide leg pants. Yea they are apparently re-surfacing with a style to them.

CROP TOPS

This was also a 90s fashion piece. From the long sleeves to the short sleeves to the turtle necks, these definitely are the biggest comebacks.  People like the late Aaliyah were pretty much known for showing their awesome mid-riffs in their assorted styled crop tops.

BOYFRIEND BAGGY JEANS

These have definitely become the new skinny jeans. The baggier and rougher it looks the better looking it becomes. These are definitely one of my staples for the summer and a must have for everyone.

GRAPHIC T-EES

If you wanted a laid back chilled kind of look in the 90s, these would be your run-to fashion item. Today we still see this trend coming in as ever before. It definitely gives you the not-trying-so-hard-today relaxing vibe.

MY MILK DILEMMA

So this morning, I woke up with hunger strike (for my naija peeps)
    Infact that was what woke me up because I planned on sleeping till 12.00pm but them say lai lai
it will not work. So I quickly rushed up na and decided to make eba but I look say that one go take time
  I need sharp sharp things. I quickly went for cereal even though say on a normal day, I would never go for cereal. My people oo, na so this chick enter cupboard joyfully. I took out the cereal
    and poured it into my bowl (yes I wanna give details e concern you?)
And then I walked to the fridge and opened it.
  Oh Jesu, Lo and behold there was no milk. My heart wept a little bit. I looked to see if the komkom(container) was at least there but no oo there was nothing. I went to the cupboard to see if there was tin milk, NO there was none. The kin vex when catch me eee, e no get part 2.
        I left that bowl of cereal and went upstairs to lay back down
  But the hunger was too much to ignore. To worsen the whole case, omo babe no get money to
         go buy new milk. Na so I go my piggy bank of coins ooo..
 This is where I started thanking God for coins. I poured the whole coins out and began counting nickels and dimes until I got to $5. I ran to the store, got the milk came home and I still had the bowl of cereal.
   Now I know some of you would say so this girl can drive all the way to the store to get the milk but cannot just put water on fire and make eba or even make the eba inside microwave? Well its not my fault. Na cereal hungry me pass. So yea, thats my milk dilemma.... See you on the next post... ADIOS..
